The balls that saw the Empire State Building

I am still desperately trying to put thousands of pics in some sort of an order. My BF and I love taking A LOT of them so, after 6 weeks of living in New York, we’re swamped with them. This reminded me of our small adventure 2 weeks ago, when our friend’s brother visited from Atlanta and took us on a small trip in the Big Apple, showing us placed we might have not seen otherwise. This is when we saw the High Line park, thanks to him, once again.

The Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges + Chinatown

Today it rains in New York. I am again sorting pictures and trying to find the ones that are worth posting online. I recall our 7 hour trip to the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges in New York, plus a stroll in the famous from all the police movies Chinatown. Yeah, 7 hours, you read correctly. Because we like to stop and take pictures and then stop again and take some more. Or just stand still in amazement.
We got off the subway near the Court House and then followed the signs ...

New York High Line – another kind of park

We are staying at some friends in New York for 1 month already and were able to “touch” some areas not all tourists see. Our friend’s brother lived in Manhattan for some years, so he took us on a small walk in the places he used to visit back then.
The High Line was built in the 1930s, as part of a massive public-private infrastructure project called the West Side Improvement. It lifted freight traffic 30 feet in the air, removing dangerous trains from the streets of Manhattan’s ...

Wintertime in Montenegro

Last year, one day after the Christmas day, my BF’s sister came to us with a great idea: let’s go to Croatia (Dubrovnik) and spend the New Year’s Eve. Few months ago me and my “man” came from our first vacation in Dubrovnik with hundreds of wonderful photos and only good words about the place. It’s amazing, it’s beautiful, it’s a dream.
We would talk so much about it, she was anxious to personally see what’s so wonderful that we wouldn’t shut up.
Long story short: we got up in the car ...

Travel agencies vs. online booking

Our first “serious” trip outside Romania was few years ago, when we wanted to go to Numismata (an European Numismatic Convention) in Munich. My boyfriend worked in the city for some years previously and was confident we won’t get lost in there. But still, there was a problem: accommodation.
As in any normal city, we have lots of travel agencies in Timisoara (where we live in). With amazing offers to get you to the other side of the world, discounts, 5 star hotels, anything you want. Still there were still people ...

Getting back in action

The “travel blog” was created some time ago and, even if I was able to gather lots of images and experience from my own journeys, I seem to have been lazy enough to not work on it.
Now we’re back. With a new updated design, based on an amazing wordpress theme, modified so that it does have the unique look the blog should have. With many many images (will be posted these days) and of course many stories and recommendations.
You’ll be able to make a virtual visit to: Austria, Germany, Serbia, ...

Who wants to go to the dentist?

To be honest, I really like going to the dentist.
And still, I’d have some scares when it comes to going to this particular one.
The picture was taken in Shkodra (Albania) this summer.
Looks like he/she doesn’t have too many patients right now.

Name the country with 80% of the cars being Mercedes

As we all know Mercedes is a famous German car brand. If you go to Germany, there are huge chances you’d be able to see a lot of them on the streets. And still, even if it’s the ‘native country’ for the Mercedes cars, Germany does have the strees run by lots of other brands (BMW, VW, Audi, Peugeot, Citroen etc.)
In our summer vacation we were able to visit a country that was pretty interesting in many aspects. And the most interesting one was they had LOTS of Mercedes cars.
Guess ...

Some kind of a Hello!

Any new blog has to start with a “Hello world!” message, even if most new blogs don’t have yet ANY readers, except for the blogger who’s creating them. Still, we’ll surely obey the (un)written rule and say a HUGE HELLO! to all of you who will come to read these articles.
“Blog my travels” is a project dedicated to all of you who travel and love every minute of it. I got the idea in one of my (few but amazing) travels. We (me and my boy-friend) spent 10 wonderful days ...
